The idea for this web site is to introduce Internet Radio to our family for education and interest. It also with a view to future work within the Internet Radio field.
I am one of the senior members in the family and very much using this experience to learn all about Internet Radio so that I can pass this information onto other family members.
November 2025 Update; I am progressing with the Privacy Policy and a Cookie Banner and we are looking forward getting the Radio Station ready for Christmas with Christmas Music being played throughout the Festive Season.
September 2025 Update; Busy month improving the layout of the Studio. The Music Library is continuing to develop as is the DJ programming schedules for family members. I have been researching how to create ‘Cookie’ banners and also finding out more information regarding a Privacy Policy for the website. Plenty of work to be getting on with.
June 2025 Update; I have been recording shows for the Local Radio Station and found that presenting a radio shows is quite a complex procedure. I hope to use the experience and progress it to this Radio Station. The Radio Music catalogue is coming along and playlists are being drawn up for each of the family member’s music choices. The Privacy Notice is yet to be completed.
April 2025 Update: Here we are at the end of April 2025, things have been a bit slow due to other commitments , however I hope to make more progress in May. I have just about completed my training as a presenter at our local Radio Station, this has been an excellent experience also, I have had another Meeting with a local business advisor and found it very informative.
MARCH 2025 Update 2; The radio station is progressing at the moment I am researching creating an APP with Google Developer. The music catalogue is increasing too whilst the programming scheduling is coming on.
March 2025 Update 1; Things are progressing well, a catalogue of music for the Station Library is under way. Work has been slow on the web site due to other commitments but I will progress it now. We have been rehearsing programmes and learning how to produce a Radio Show. Other family members are giving me their music selections. Scheduling requires more information too.
January 2025 Update 1; A busy start to the New Year, I have purchased a PRS License for the Radio Station and a Free Trial is presently in progress whilst I am setting up the Station. The Web Player has been placed onto the Home Page and seems to be working with a limited Playlist. I will be adding more tracks soon. The plan is still to launch the Radio Station in March 2025.
December 2024 Update 2; I had an excellent conversation with the head of the Internet Radio Company I am hoping to use in the future. Based in Los Angeles he was able to explain how the system works and how quick it is to start an Internet Radio Station. The Dashboard Layout used in the Company is well laid out and should be straight forward to use. There are also really good instructional videos on the web. There are still a few more areas to research regarding Licensing, etc.
December 2024 Update 1; I managed to arrange a visit to our local community radio station with my partners grandson. We were very kindly shown around the two Studios and also the transmitter room, really interesting. I enquired about becoming a Presenter on the Station and hope to progress this in the New Year. I think this will give me a good insight into running my own radio station.
November 2024 Update; I am looking into visiting our Local Radio Stations for information and to look at their Studio Arrangements.
October 2024 Update; After six months of research, things are progressing well, I have been studying website construction and drawing up items to be included in a Business Plan. Regarding the Website, the present site has been drawn up to practise website construction, the main method I plan to use is ‘Themes’. With Themes I will try and produce a more modern professionally looking website.
As for the Business Plan, it has been very interesting finding out all of the items required in running an Internet Radio Station. Hosting, Licensing and DJ Equipment Insurance are some of the areas I have looked into along with Advertising and Marketing then there is the actual Programme Scheduling.
